Hi there, we're back from an awesome trip through Iceland. In the last weeks we drove more than 4000km all over the island and had really close encounters with wild puffins, seals and huge humpback whales, saw breathtaking Northern Lights dancing directly above our heads and all around us, paddled through huge glacier bays filled with icebergs, had nice sunsets and interesting river crossings in the highlands on the F-roads and had some fun with our Jeep, not to forget all the hiking and the thousands of waterfalls and rainbows along the road and simply the interesting and active volcanic landscapes ... The Assignment - Landscape Film (it takes a second to prefetch the video)
"Dave Derbis’ Assignment combined both his passion for photography and trial biking. Travelling by bike, Dave was tasked with capturing the stunning volcanoes, lava fields and sulphur springs of Iceland’s otherworldly terrain.
It was his first time in the country and the ‘fire and ice’ landscape combined with its isolation suited his photographic style. Travelling by bike enabled him to see much of the country and truly exploit his skills as a growing landscape photographer.

Back from Iceland!
After flying to Isafjordhur via Reykjavik on Sunday 31/08/2008 the adventure started in the northern fjords of Iceland with a little boat scene. On the second day we drove into the wild and through the highlands of Iceland. We saw Godafoss, Galcier Bay, awesome beaches near Vik, Skogafoss, Geysir, Blue Lagoon and lots of other very remote and impressive locations. Finally arrived back at Reykjavik on Friday night, I flew back to Germany on Saturday in the early morning.
