lofoten, norway, street, roadshot, mountain, wet, rain, 2013 After six flights, a few ferry rides and about 2000km in the car we are back from the Lofoten, Norway. We had some nice and eventful weeks in the arctic from mid-august to mid-september but the weather was kind of strange and a bit odd. The first days we had a good mix of rain and clouds but then we often only had completely grey skies and flat light or blue bird skies without any clouds. Not quite optimal for landscape photography. But since it was not a pure photo motivated and dedicated tour we nevertheless enjoyed this trip and seeing this breathtaking Lofoten landscapes with our ... Continue reading →

harz, sunset, sunstar, brocken, cliff, leistenklippe, forest, highland, germany Rundwanderung Hohnekamm bei Drei Annen Hohne Notice: To all non-german speaking of you; I write the trip-reports done in Germany in german but all upcoming international trip-reports will be written in english.

I had to realize that my current travel photo-backpack is not designed for long walks with heavy weight. In Rome we walked for hours each day and over 45km overall in three days. At the end of the second day my back hurts so bad that I could hardly move anymore. So the next day I only packed the absolute minimum equipment to carry through the city. Of course that day I missed a shot I could have nailed with another lens which I left in the hotel due to its weight. Of course I don't want this to happen again, hence this article. When I planed and packed ... Continue reading →

easyjet, plane, air, clouds, wing, 2013 On sunday night we returned from a short trip to the eternal city, Rome in Italy. It was a nice trip and we were lucky with the weather from a touristic and a photographic point of view. No bluebird skies but also no rain. We walked about 45km through the city, did some shopping, had nice food and saw lots of the sights of Rome like the famous Colloseum, Forum Romanum, Piazza Venezia, Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna, Pantheon, Piazza Navuno, Villa Medici, Piazza Popolo, Place de Republica and of course the Vatican with the breathtaking huge Basillica di San Pietro and climed the Capulo ...
